The Workplace Chaplaincy in Derbyshire is organised in such a way that fits the general mantra of "WCD deploys not employs".

There approximately 40 chaplains in various sectors of working environments across the county of Derbyshire.  These chaplains are supported and trained within the auspices of WCD, but are not employees of WCD. They are individually accredited from within their Church denominations, and are accredited in their chaplaincies through agreements with the organisations concerned. The Principal Chaplain has oversight of chaplaincies and chaplains.

The WCD Council draws together people from various Christian denominations and other organisations with interest in the chaplaincy work. This body meets 3 times per year to review the work.

The WCD Management Committee meets 6 times per year and handles issues such as funding and specific chaplaincy agreements and issues.

There is also an Annual General Meeting to which all who may be interested in workplace chaplaincy are welcome to attend. Invitations are distributed to all Churches, usually through the minister. The Annual Report is presented to the AGM. This year's Report is viewed at Annual report 2010 (Word) or Annual report 2010 (PDF).
